Doctor Who Expanded

Wikia have added a few new features - Blogs, User Masthead, and Avatars. All will be useful for our community to interact and update the site.

The blog will be the perfect replacement to the old Bulletin Board idea, and replaces it as of today. All site announcements will go here. Any user can add a blog post on whatever subject they like. The post can only be edited by the original author and admin staff. It should be on topic about fan productions. Here are a few subject ideas:

  • Reviews
  • New releases
  • Information on competitions
  • Upcoming showings at conventions
  • Production diaries

No doubt there are more possibilities, we will see how things evolve.

To make a post you'll need to go to the new User Masthead by clicking on your username (you must be registered and logged in). At the top is a new bar, go to blog, and click 'create blog article'. The article/post will be posted on your own personal blog page and picked up on the main sites joint blog or 'Blog Matrix'. The Blog Matrix will take a little time to pick up new posts, but if you click 'refresh' you'll be sure to see your post straight away.

It will be moderated to be sure there is no spamming or offensive and abusive posts. Common sense stuff really. We can sort out any bugs if they appear.

Find out more on all three features by looking at Help:Blog article.

To upload an Avatar for your user profiles go to the Masthead and click 'preferences'. Scroll down and it's similar to the way it's done on forums. The avatar will appear next to your MastHead and any blog posts and comments you make.

And feel free to make a comment below! Any suggestions welcome. Or you can use the forum for larger discussions.
