"The Chronicles of Doctor Who?" was a fan audio series created by Jaden Zagor. It was to be based on the infamous "Leekley Bible", a complete reboot of Doctor Who continuity written by John Leekley. The First episode was due to be released sometime in 2017 before being cancelled.
Story[]
Synopsis[]
To the universe, Earth is a ball of dirt. To the Doctor, it is home he wish he had.
After the Master is appointed the title of 'Lord-President' of Gallifrey, a war begins to brew with a hidden enemy. Now, the Doctor is on the run from his own planet, searching for his long-lost father so he can save Gallifrey and the universe.
Continuity[]
This was to be based solely on the Leekley Bible which shared no continuity with the main show, instead reinventing a large number of its elements.
Production[]
The Leekley Universe:
The Series was to be based on the failed Doctor Who reboot proposed by John Leekley in the early 1990's. The writer's tried to closely emulate the tone and storyline mentioned in the various drafts of The Leekley Bible. Their sources consisted of: The first draft of the Leekley Bible, The Nth Doctor by Jean-Marc Lofficier (which featured an abridged draft of the pilot script) and Regeneration by Phillip Segal (featuring a more updated list of potential episodes).
Casting:
Multiple casting calls were created on sites like Behind the Voice Actors and Casting Call Club. All of the roles were cast before cancellation.
Marketing:
A trailer was released on September 4th 2017 on YouTube. It is now unlisted but still accessible here.
Cancellation:
After a few months in production, around 50% of the voice lines were recorded by but eventually life got in the way and when it was clear, the team were not happy with how the project was coming together. They decided to cancel the project and have remained silent on the matter until an article was published on the website 'Down the Tubes'. The article had a brief interaction with one of the team members. It is accessible here.
