There where several different recurring storylines and villains created in the series. Series 1 had the Doctor meet his new companion, Catrona and stop a monster from killing the inhabbitants of earth. He then takes her to Anient Egypt a giant insect hive that floats in space. And then to her home planet in each novel of series 1 she transforms in full werecat.
In Series 2 Catrona is put on trail by the were cats and she has to retreve an artifact that has been broken in time to be freed.
