Character[]
Personality[]
This Doctor seems much freer and happier than his predecessors - radiating a sense of how wonderful it is to be alive and the impression of someone who *knows* that one person can make the world a better place just by ignoring what everyone thinks of them and being the best person that they can possibly be. He is blissfully unaware of this own confidence - as though he hasn't once in his life tried to analyze his own character.
He's often accused of being reckless, blindly doing dangerous, unexpected - and occasionally, quite frankly idiotic - things to stop any threat. In fact, his response to any threats are often so obvious as to be absurd (stealing guns and immediately offering them back to the owner, shrugging and saying "Shan't" when ordered to do something at gun point, etc.), but these actions are very often what works, when the 'sensible' options (his emphasis) would still result in certain death. He confronts everything with the intention of seeing it's good side, becoming exasperated and very subtly sarcastic if the good side stubbornly refuses to show itself.
Appearance[]
The Eighth Doctor was a man of average height, who looked to be somewhere in his late-thirties. He had long, dark brown hair that fell just below the shoulders (The Doctor's New Clothes, Stigmata), with bits of grey starting to appear by the time of his final travels (Freedom Fighter). Unlike his previous selves, this Doctor had facial hair, in this case being a neatly trimmed mustache and goatee. His face has been described by the Doctor himself as handsome, even a bit aristocratic (The Doctor's New Clothes). While his eye color seemed to change during his initial travels, with it being grey (Spirits), and blue (The Pax Process), it ultimately seemed to settle to the color of emerald green for the rest of this incarnation's life.
Wanting an outfit radically different to his predecessors, the Doctor settled to wearing a white collarless dress shirt, grey pants, and brown shoes. Over the shirt, the Doctor wore a midnight blue vest that was adorned with many white dots, resembling a starry night sky. These stars seemed to have a mind of their own, as they would move around and form various shapes. These shapes include rose petals, arrows, small Silurian figures (The Doctor's New Clothes) Mickey Mouse (Spirits), hearts (Red Spot), and much more.
He chose not wear a coat on the regular, but will wear one if the occasion calls for it. Examples include a simple black coat (Various stories), a red trench coat (The Darkest Day), a cloak (The Soul Men), etc.
After wearing a pair of sunglasses in the aftermath of his regeneration (Best Enemy), he picked up the habit of wearing them as often as possible. He'd wear various styles throughout his travels, whether they are cheap, expensive, strangely designed, etc.

Biography[]
Post-regeneration[]
Hot on The Master's trail following their fight in Vancouver (The Final Sunset), the Seventh Doctor and Liz Shaw have tracked him onto the planet of Nlaka, where he was hailed as a hero by it's inhabitants. During his fight with his best enemy, the Doctor and the Master soon found themselves falling down a large waterfall. Knowing that he would surely die from the fall, the Doctor manually started his regeneration mid-air to soften the blow when he eventually hits the rocks below. With only a quarter of a second remaining, the Doctor mentally decides what form his next incarnation will take and starts the regeneration. (Best Enemy)
Waking up on a table in the TARDIS, and donning a pair of sunglasses, the new Doctor had to prove that he was in fact the definitive article, all the while fighting a malreplicant of his previous self, and the Master who had disguised himself as a woman who also claimed to be the Doctor. After the malreplicant escapes in a layer of the TARDIS, and the Master defeated and arrested by the Nlaka authorities, the Doctor and Liz depart in the TARDIS. (Best Enemy)
After rummaging through the TARDIS wardrobe for a new outfit, the Doctor would soon take Liz back home on Earth. (The Doctor's New Clothes)
Initial travels[]
The Doctor, travelling alone, visits a number of locations during this time, from Medieval France (Stigmata) to a space prison ship in the Thirty-First Century (The Pax Process), and meets a selection of new friends and foes along the way.
Eventually, the Doctor came to the realization that he had no idea what became of his predecessor's companion, Ace. The memory of the events leading up to it being extremely hazy, the Doctor journeys to the Det-Sen Monastery in Tibet and communicates and consults with Padmasambhava, a Vajra Buddhist master. After being advised to retrace his steps, the Doctor leaves the monastery to start his search. (Mercury 237) Add info

Solo travels[]
The Doctor spent an unspecified amount of time travelling alone after Grae's departure.
The Doctor visited Renaissance-era Florence, and was swept into the Pazzi Conspiracy plot to overthrow the Medici family. The Doctor nearly changed the course of events, but with the help of Niccolo Machiavelli, was able to set history back on course. (The Conspirators)
Wanting to distract himself from recent events, the Doctor decided to challenge himself by returning to Mars to find out the fate of the Osirians. He was quickly arrested upon arrival by an Earth expedition that had arrived first. After dealing with internal fighting within the expedition and the trials set by the Osirians intended for Sutekh, the Doctor quietly slipped away into his TARDIS. (The Atef Crown) Add more info
