Ben appeared in Realm of Darkness, where he met the Doctor and Zack. He was part of the expedition that went to one of the moons of Antiok for scientific reason. He, along with David and Steve were the last three humans alive, until the Doctor and Zack arrived. Shortly after this, Ben had been attached by the Vashta Nerada then fully eaten, body and bones, by the Vashta Nerada
